Compare ceramic materials: stoneware vs porcelain vs bone china.

EKAY manufactures wholesale ceramic dinnerware sets — 4-piece place settings up to 32-piece family and hospitality sets — in stoneware, porcelain and new bone china, direct from our Liling, China factory with OEM/ODM development from 500 sets.

Set configurations

Common configurations are 12-piece and 16-piece service for four (dinner plate, side plate, bowl, mug), 20-piece and 32-piece service for six or eight, and coupe or rim plate profiles. Sets can be mixed across bodies and glazes — for example a speckled stoneware plate with a plain glazed bowl — and gift-boxed as a retail-ready SKU or bulk-packed for foodservice.

Choosing the body material

Stoneware gives a rustic, matte, hand-made look and a heavier feel, favoured by lifestyle and DTC brands. Porcelain is denser and brighter for restaurant and hotel service where chip resistance and stacking matter. New bone china is lighter and whiter with high translucency for premium retail. Our material comparison guide walks through the trade-offs in detail.

MOQ, packaging and shipping

MOQ is 500 sets per design; mixed-colour orders are accepted within the same total quantity. Retail gift boxes, printed sleeves, foam or moulded pulp inners and master cartons are all produced in-house, with drop-test verification before shipment. A 20 ft container typically holds 900-1,400 16-piece sets depending on box design; we confirm exact loading and CBM before booking.

Quality control

Every order is inspected at three stages — greenware, post-glaze firing and packing — against an AQL 2.5 plan, with dimension, weight, glaze defect, thermal shock and food-contact migration checks. Third-party inspections (SGS, BV, Intertek) can be arranged at your request.
